Pear-Shaped Flask with 2 Necks - Versatile for Synthesis and Evaporation - Small Scale
Heavy Wall Design
Hand-Blowing To Ensure Uniform
Wall Thickness
- DESIGN---A pear-shaped flask is designed round at top but pointy at the bottom so a pipette can remove all the liquid, and allow recover much more material than in a round bottom flask.2 neck design with standard taper joints at top for easy assembly with other lab glass apparatus with standard taper joints. The extra neck can be used to fit a bleeding tube or thermometer adapter or additional funnel. It is usually with small size for small-scale distillations.
- WHERE IS IT USED----- Pear-shaped flasks can be used for both synthesis and evaporation,it is used for evaporating solutions to dryness post synthesis using a rotary evaporator. It can be used as both reaction flask and evaporation flask in organic chemistry. An example:it is used as a distillation flask in the small scale short path distillation apparatus attaching a short path distillation head.
- HEAVY WALL ---The pear-shaped flask is heavy-wall design , made by hand-blowing according to ASTM E438 ,made of high-quality borosilicate glass and annealed at 800 degree Celsius ,can be heated directly in an open flame and can withstand typical laboratory thermal variations in Chemistry processes like heating and cooling, durable and reusable.
